Body Image

Is the way you view your body affecting your self esteem? Do you believe that your worth as a person is tied to your appearance? Do you feel pressure from society to look a certain way?

Negative body image is a disordered perception of one’s own body image and appearance. Loving yourself can be hard when you feel ashamed or dissatisfied with your body, believing you are too fat, too thin, or unattractive in some way. You may feel self- consciousness, shame, and anxiety in relation to your body image but unsure where the root of these feelings are coming from. Events such as past trauma or abuse, and mental health conditions can manifest in these self-defeating behaviors related to body image.

I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your feelings and attitudes towards your body. Together we will set realistic expectations, identify and alter negative thought patterns and search deeper to explore the underlying issues that may be affecting your body image. Together we will work towards developing self-compassion and self-acceptance. You are beautiful, you will soon see that too!

Disordered Eating

Life can be hard when you are in a cycle of unhealthy habits related to food and eating. It becomes even more challenging when it starts to affect your everyday life, relationships and even career. You deserve to be happy and live a life where you are free from maladaptive internal habits and destructive behaviors. Fighting against your negative thoughts feels defeating and isolating. This can be a very heavy battle to fight both mentally and physically.

My mission is to help lift the stress of your chest, and be your support. I am committed to helping you feel empowered and heard. We will work to identify and address the underlying issues contributing to disordered eating. I will help you find healthy habits and tools to implement in your lifestyle. I am passionate about helping you break free and reach a place where you thrive in all aspects of life. Don’t let disordered eating stop you from accomplishing your goals and being the person you want to be. We can overcome these challenges together!

Workplace Discrimination

Have you faced limitations in the workplace based on stereotypical biases related to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation? You may be experiencing the glass cleaning effect. The glass ceiling effect is invisible barriers society has placed on competent individuals especially, women and minorities that prevent them from advancing to higher positions in their careers.

The glass ceiling effect can manifest in various ways, such as unequal pay, exclusion from decision-making, or lack of promotion opportunities. As a result, even highly qualified individuals may find it difficult to move up the corporate ladder, and their potential contributions may be unrecognized or neglected.

The negative feeling produced from the glass ceiling effect can have a significant impact on your mental health. Facing barriers in the workplace based on gender, race, ethnicity, or other factors can lead to internalized feelings of frustration, low self value, and anger, which can ultimately lead to mental health challenges. Some of these challenges include increased stress and anxiety, depression, low self esteem, and burnout.

This form of discrimination is can be very challenging to deal with. Some challenges include emotional and psychological harm, reduced opportunities, and stereotyping. Discrimination can be based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, nationality, or socio-economic status. Nonetheless, these can have a significant impact on your mental health.

Through therapy, you will grow your confidence, develop assertiveness skills, and navigate workplace dynamics in a more impactful way. You deserve to be happy and be able to follow your dreams and ambitions. You don’t need to let the burden of societal discourses negatively impact you. I am committed to helping you reach a place where you overcome the negative effects of the glass ceiling effect and discrimination to reach your full potential.
