As a child of first-generation immigrants, I’ve been exposed to the various challenges of acclimating to new environments and finding my place in the world. I believe that deep, lasting change occurs when the underlying root of distress is identified and worked through. I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy to identify unhelpful thought processes and provide practical tools in overcoming them, and I rely heavily on psychodynamic principals to explore your history. So, together we can understand how your entire life is affecting the current challenges you face.

What is KAP?
Ketamine is a medicine traditionally used for 5 decades as an anesthetic.
When used in low doses, Ketamine creates a dissociative feeling, a distance from every day life and a deeper connection to your own inner world.
Ketamine Assisted therapy (KAP) is a deep therapeutic process that utilizes medication in conjunction with psychotherapy. This approach takes advantage of ketamine’s ability to promote deeper states of self-awareness, while the therapeutic integration can create optimal and sustained healing.
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) has been proven to improve a number of conditions including trauma/PTSD, depression, suicidality, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders and more.
Potential benefits may include: lessening of depressive and anxiety symptoms, a “time out” from the busy mind, obsessive thoughts or negative self-talk, profound shifts in perspective on self, relationships and worldview, a more positive or fresh outlook on challenging situations, and more.
In KAP preparation sessions, we will collaborate to best prepare you for understanding the insights that typically arise during the ketamine sessions. In working with clients undergoing KAP treatment, there is a strong emphasis on the importance of therapy integration for optimal benefits. Integration sessions occur after the medicine sessions to help you to make sense of what arose for you during the ketamine sessions and apply these insights to make positive and lasting changes in your life.
Your KAP treatment team will consist of a licensed physician and myself as your psychotherapist. Both of us are authorized by our respective licensure boards to provide the gold standard of professional psychiatric and psychotherapeutic services.
You will have an initial screening session and assessment with a licensed physician to determine whether ketamine is an appropriate medicine for your healthcare needs. If KAP is appropriate for you and there are no contraindications, a licensed physician will outline a specific route of administration and dosing strategy based on your mental health history and treatment goals. From that point, we will schedule sessions as needed to prepare you for the ketamine sessions.

I gained a valuable perspective, which I now relay to my clients, on the differences in male and female dating approaches and experiences.

If you’ve never experienced couples therapy, it may seem a bit uncomfortable and daunting at first. To allow a third party into your intimate relationship is challenging and brave. The truth is that while couples counseling can get intense at times as we address the root causes of conflicts, it doesn’t have to be a painful experience. Oftentimes, the biggest hurdle is making it to the first session. I understand this trepidation and I do everything in my power to provide you both with a safe space of non-judgment and compassion.
Although your relationship may now have more bad days than good, where even the smallest thing can trigger discord, I want you to know that there is still hope. Where there is a breakdown, there is always an opportunity for a breakthrough. With a bit of help and guidance, you and your partner can come through this experience stronger than ever.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Couples and Sex Therapist, my primary focus is on communication. Resolving any relationship conflict begins with clear and open communication, in a space where emotions can be identified and set aside so as not to hinder true listening and deep understanding of one another.
I focus on teaching you how to express your feelings and needs without using anger, criticism and blame, and how to listen, without defensiveness, so that your partner feels understood and cared for. Once you truly feel heard, we are able to relate to each other, connect and create the foundation necessary for resolving the underlying issue(s).
I hold a safe, non-judgmental space for you to talk openly about sex and sexuality, such as improving sexual intimacy, sexual desire or arousal issues, and sexual anxieties or difficulties. Our sexuality is an intrinsic part of who we are. When we are not confident or self-expressed in this part of our life, it can affect our sense of self and our relationship. When we don’t feel comfortable talking about these types of issues, it can induce anxiety, defensiveness and feel very isolating. Creativity and self-expression is a gift. It’s a gift to have the ability to transform an idea or feeling into an art form, from imagination or sense, into something real. It’s a gift to be able express it, and a gift to share it with the outside world.
Creatives are the bravest, boldest people I know. To get up in front of a crowd and perform, to be in your most vulnerable state, up on display for the world to see, you risk judgment, criticism and rejection. That to me is true strength and courage.
I know how frustrating it can feel when you are not able to expend your creative energy and express your art. It can feel like a dampening of your spirit. I know you feel the most alive when you are in being your creative self.
I know what it’s like to hustle, to work multiple jobs trying to make the pieces of the puzzle fit so you can do what you need in order to write, perform, or record. The ups and downs cause internal and external instability, which can feel exhausting, soul crushing, and anxiety provoking. Sometimes you question why you even do it. And wonder how, at times, the one thing that had initially been your source of healing is also your source of distress.
But you’re reminded of why you do it when you have those beautiful moments…the rush of creating something out of nothing, the euphoria and adrenaline after you walk off stage after a performance, those moments make you feel so alive and remind you why you sacrifice so much.

My Journey as an Artist
I began my early years as a musician and songwriter where I learned the ins and outs of the entertainment industry and met some of the bravest people I know today. I strongly identify with this part of myself, because like you, it is more than a career, it is part of my soul, spirit and identity. I carry with me an understanding of what it’s like to pursue something you’re passionate about and the emotional toll it can take when you are met with rejection and criticism. I also understand how deeply gratifying it feels when you achieve goals that once seemed light years away.
Through these experiences, I’ve applied various therapeutic techniques to my own life in order to tackle performance anxiety, overcome the strong inner-critic within myself, and free myself from other people’s opinions.

I am grateful to have completed a two-year fellowship at UCLA receiving a Certification in Couples and Sex Therapy through The Association of Couples and Sex Therapists. Here was mentored by Dr. Walter Bracklemanns and Dr. Wendy Cherry- leading experts in the field of couples and sex therapy. My training integrated the latest research in neuroscience and psychobiology into the theoretical and clinical approach treating relational, couple and sexual issues.
I integrate alternative modalities of treatment for those seeking transformation and healing, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I had the privilege of training with Dr. Phil Wolfson, a leader in the research and development of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as part his advanced ketamine training seminar along with other leaders in the psychedelic psychotherapy field.
